First Visit
Your Child's First Dental Visit
There are so many exciting and monumental milestones that you experience with your child, and we want to make sure that their first dental appointment is another milestone you can treasure forever. The Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that a child be seen for their first dental visit by the age of one. The primary goal of the first visit is to help your child develop positive associations with the dental office and to develop trust and rapport with Dr. Paige and her team.
During your child’s first dental appointment you can expect a thorough dental cleaning as well as a discussion with our team about any dental concerns you may have. We will share tips and tricks for caring for your child’s teeth at home, review proper dental care instructions, discuss dietary recommendations, and advise you on what to expect in the coming months and years.

Whether this is your child’s first dental visit ever or their first dental visit at our office, we want to make sure they feel welcome and comfortable in our care. We know how important it is to for you to trust the team of professionals providing treatment for them, but we assure you we that our team is qualified and specialized in treating children and we will strive to make every appointment a pleasant one.
You are welcome to stay with your child during their first dental visit. At subsequent visits we encourage you to nurture their independence and allow them to come back to the treatment area on their own. We have found that most children do better when they are allowed to develop their relationship with Dr. Paige and her team without the presence of a parent. However, we acknowledge that every child is different so we leave the decision entirely up to you. You are more than welcome to accompany your child during all of their dental appointments here at our office.
Thank you for choosing Dandridge Pediatric Dentistry. We can’t wait to meet you!
