MEET THE DOCTOR

Hi, I'm Dr. Paige.

"I'm a pediatric dentist, a mom of two wild boys, and a believer that dental visits can be the highlight of a kid's month, not the thing they dread."

"I started Dandridge Pediatric Dentistry because East Tennessee deserved a practice built entirely around how kids actually experience the dentist."

MEET DR. TAYLOR

18 years of caring for kids.

Dr. Alisa Taylor brings nearly two decades of experience caring for children to the practice. Originally from Mattoon, IL, she earned her dental degree from Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine in 2006.

Before relocating to Tennessee in 2021, Dr. Taylor owned her own successful dental practice in Illinois. She brings the steady, seasoned hand that makes every visit feel routine, even the hard ones.

The hands your kid will actually see.

Our clinical and front-office team, registered dental assistants, hygienists, and patient coordinators, are the people who make your child's visit calm, unhurried, and fun. Most of them are moms themselves.

WHAT A VISIT LOOKS LIKE

Gentle. Unhurried. Actually fun.

Pink gloves, kid-friendly equipment, hand-painted murals, and a clinical team trained to go at your child's pace. Visits are structured to feel like a game, tell-show-do, count the teeth, pick a sticker.

For first-timers, nervous kids, or kids who've had a bad experience elsewhere, we keep longer appointment blocks open so nothing feels rushed.

Good Questions

Parents ask us this a lot

tap any question to open it

At what age should my child first see the dentist?

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the AAP both recommend a first dental visit by age 1, or within six months of the first tooth coming in. We keep these visits short, gentle, and focused on getting your child comfortable in the chair, not on exhaustive exams.

Do you accept my insurance?

We’re in-network with 19 plans across Tennessee, including Aetna, BCBS of TN, Ameritas, Cigna PPO, GEHA, Guardian, Humana PPO, MetLife, Principal, SunLife, TeamCare, Simple, Lineco, Standard, Renaissance, Unum, Starmount Life, Reliance Standard, and CareFirst. Use the checker above, or call us at (865) 940-1280. We file claims directly so you don’t have to.

What if my child is really anxious or has special needs?

This is our specialty. We offer desensitization visits, you can come just to sit in the chair, plus sensory-adjusted rooms, nitrous oxide, and in-office IV sedation with a board-certified anesthesiologist on site. Dr. Paige is board-certified in pediatric dentistry, which includes specific training in behavior management for anxious kids.

Do parents come back to the treatment room?

Always. You’re welcome, encouraged, to stay with your child through every visit. We’ve found kids settle faster with a parent in the room, especially at younger ages.

What happens in a dental emergency?

Call us first, (865) 940-1280. We hold same-day emergency slots open every weekday. For a knocked-out permanent tooth, time matters: get to us, an ER, or any dentist within 30 minutes. Keep the tooth moist, milk is ideal, and never scrub it.

How often should my child come in?

Every six months, starting by their first birthday. Kids with higher decay risk, orthodontic appliances, or special medical needs may come more often, we’ll always tell you why, never just “because.”
